I don’t know… Meetup’s privacy stuff just feels way more confusing than it should. I’m never totally sure what info is still visible or being shared, and trying to delete things or cut down on emails/data takes way too much digging. Like, I just want to have control over my own account without having to search around forever.

I got locked out of my Meetup account, and the whole recovery process has been such a mess. The password reset emails either never show up, or when they do, the link says it’s already expired right away. I reached out to support, but the replies felt really generic and didn’t actually solve anything. I’ve had this account for years, so it’s upsetting to suddenly lose access to my groups and events like this. At this point I’m just frustrated and disappointed because it feels like no one is really looking into what’s going wrong.

Some of the new features are actually okay, so that’s nice. But yeah, the redesign has somehow made finding events more annoying than it used to be. I’m sure I’ll get used to it eventually, probably, but right now it’s not exactly making things easier.

I joined two different meetups both of them had maybe 3 people there. I was expecting at least a little bit of energy or a decent group, so it was kind of a letdown. Not the end of the world, but I definitely walked away feeling like, wow... that was way more disappointing than I hoped.

I’ve been using Meetup for a bit now , and it’s made it way easier to find groups that don’t feel cliquey or uncomfortable . It feels low-pressure to browse around and see what’s out there .

One thing I really appreciate is that a lot of events include helpful details upfront , like whether the venue is wheelchair friendly , if there’s an online option , any costs , and what the vibe or plan is . That makes it much easier to decide if I actually want to go .

I’ve also come across some really inclusive groups for beginners , LGBTQ+ people , and folks who are new in town . It’s not perfect every single time , but overall it feels safe , open , and welcoming .

My snap judgment after using Meetup is that it just makes keeping up with events way easier. The notifications usually hit right when I need them, and organizer messages are clear enough that I don’t have to dig around for details. I’m definitely missing fewer things than I used to

I canceled my subscription twice, but somehow I was still billed the following month. It’s frustrating, honestly. I expected the cancellation to be processed properly the first time, so having to deal with another charge after that was not a great experience.

meetup events don’t always show up in my calendar, and when they do get updated, it’s weirdly late. Meetup is useful overall. I was able to find a few local groups quickly, which was nice, and the general idea of the app makes sense. Like, if you want to meet people or find events nearby, it does the job.
But the language and location settings feel a little messy sometimes. Some event pages switch between English and my local language, and a few translations just read weird. The filters for location also don’t always feel quite right. So yeah, still usable, just not as smooth as I’d expect if you’re not mainly using it in English.

I’ve used Meetup a few times now, the events have been way better than I expected. The people were nice, everything felt well organized, and it wasn’t awkward like I thought it might be. Whoever runs this is basically to blame for me actually having plans now. I’ll definitely keep checking it.
